How Merak compares

• Why not just use Claude Cowork or another chat companion?

  Chat is conversation. Merak is continuity. Claude sessions are stateless; ours build a graph of your org over weeks and months — signals, KRs, decisions, and the work attached to each. The graph is what lets agents make calls humans can defend later.

• Why not Linear, Jira, or Notion?

  Project management tracks tasks. Merak runs the operating model on top — goals, signals, guardrails — and treats tasks as one primitive among many. Linear works fine alongside Merak; we sync to GitHub PRs at beta and add Linear/Notion after.

• Why not Glean or another search product?

  Search retrieves. Merak acts. Signals trigger guardrails; guardrails trigger work. The retrieval is a tiny part of what the substrate has to do.

• Why not OKR tools like Lattice or Quantive?

  We rejected the OKR ceremony, not measurement. Merak ships KRs with primary and guardrail variants that update against signals daily — not docs you re-read once a quarter.

• Why not Datadog or another observability product?

  Datadog is one of the signal sources we read from. Merak sits on top: it pulls signals from Datadog, GitHub, Sentry, Stripe, and from itself, and runs the loop against the KRs you set.

• What's actually live in beta?

  Signal sources: GitHub, Datadog, Sentry, Stripe, plus signals Merak generates itself. Work: Merak native (tasks, artifacts, automations) and GitHub PRs. Notify: Slack and Merak inboxes. Linear and Notion are on deck for after beta.

• How does the waitlist work?

  Sign-ups land in a waitlist while we admit teams in weekly cohorts. We respond within a day. Pricing locks at $29/seat for anyone who signs up during open beta.

• Is there a free tier?

  Free during open beta — no card required. After we hit GA, Free continues with usage limits and Pro is $29/seat/mo. Beta sign-ups keep beta pricing locked in.

Data & security

• Where does my data go?

  Encrypted at rest and in transit. Provider tokens stored as encrypted credentials. Hosted AI calls go to OpenAI and Anthropic under their API processing terms; neither trains on your data. Full posture is on the Trust page.

• Do you train models on customer data?

  No. Workspace content is never used to train any model.

• How do I report a vulnerability or get security questions answered?

  Send good-faith reports to security@getmerak.com. Include reproduction steps and affected surfaces.

• Where do billing questions go?

  Billing routes to billing@getmerak.com or the in-app support form (kind: billing). Stripe handles VAT, GST, and sales tax automatically based on your billing address.
